Comments: In 2023, we observed 6 adult Sockeye Salmon and a post-spawn Chinook Salmon swimming upstream past the mouth of EST Trib3 (see Plates 10 from submitted report on permit SF2023-190). We electrofished EST Trib3 and then noted several salmon swimming by. They looked spawned out but were moving upstream slow and steady. We observed Sockeye Salmon swimming at an upstream location from the helicopter. Water clarity was excellent. Various mining camp workers had told us that they had been catching (and releasing) Sockeye Salmon on the fly at the mouth of Portage just prior to our survey efforts. We saw adult Chinook and Sockeye at 61.9846, -152.7203. We saw Sockeye Salmon at 61.9823,-152.745. Unlike 2021, we did not catch juvenile rearing salmon.
