Comments: Chickaloon Village Traditional Council Environmental Stewardship staff Benjamin Americus, Stephanie Houser, and Madelynne Dey observed a single live adult Chinook salmon 10 meters above the lower culvert where Young Creek passes under the Chickaloon Trail at 61.74636, -148.70988. We then walked upstream from the mouth of Young Creek to above the upper Culvert and observed an adult salmon carcass at 61.74770, -148.71221. Above this, the river continues at a continuous grade with nice gravel banks, passing closely by a private residence. Attached is a gpx track of Young Creek from its mouth upstream to the location of the carcass.
