Comments: The Marten River was sampled for Chinook salmon baseline genetics on August 31, 2025 by Nathan Frost and Evan Fritz. 80 genetic samples were collected from spawning Chinook salmon from a 0.30 mile stretch of the Marten River. From the sample waypoint to 1.15 miles downstream, there were significant numbers of spawning Chinook salmon. Historically, spawning Chinook salmon have been opportunistically counted in the Marten River with aerial surveys. Add spawning Chinook salmon backup information to the Anadromous Waters Catalog.
