Comments: Chickaloon Village Traditional Council Environmental Stewardship staff Benjamin Americus and Cody Henrikson and US Fish and Wildlife Service Biologist Anna Senecal visited this stream via packraft. We set six galvanized wire mesh minnow traps on 7/9/2025 and retrieved them on 7/10/2025. Three of six traps caught fish, all juvenile sockeye salmon. We caught two sockeye in our most upstream trap at 61.71333, -148.80937. Attached is a gpx track of the stream from our most upstream trap down to the confluence with the Matanuska River. Along this reach, the stream contains clear water and does not appear to receive input from the silty Matanuska River. Above this reach, the stream steepens but we did not observe any immediate barriers to fish passage.
