Comments: Observed 3 king salmon adults in side channel of Luebner Creek, next to the railroad tracks. Arrived by jet boat, cut the engine and rowed towards fish after seeing wakes in the shallows. Approached quietly on the oars, which provided an excellent view at close range. All 3 were in spawning phase. 2 were heavily blushed, while 1 still had grayish chrome belly. Large spots on back and black jaws were distinct on each fish. 12-20 lb approximate weight. Fish were active and spooked into the main channel of Luebner Creek.
