| Overview: | Age, sex, length, coded-wire tag, and genetic sampling of the harvest of Chinook salmon in Kodiak Management Area commercial fisheries. A coded-wire tag recovery study in the Kodiak Management Area was conducted in 1994 and 1997 to 1999. Results from this work showed hatchery stocks from British Columbia, Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest dominated the samples. However, genetic stock identification of the catch has never been conducted. In 2014, tissues, age, sex, and length composition information, and coded wire tag information will be sampled from the major commercial fisheries in the Kodiak Management Area where significant catches of Chinook salmon occur. |
